So, with moving to another domain name and still lacking account migration in #Pixelfed, I have to start over. After 472 posts on my old instance, this one now moves to a #Docker-ized approach, starting from the scratch - and despite moving posts wasn't on the schedule, even migrating followers simply went tits up.
I loved the platform, I love the #Fediverse but each new feature on Pixelfed kept being a complete surprise and, this time, I drawed a conclusion from this. Until then, going with Pixelfed was a great trip but also a crossroad, reminding me to stay on solid ground instead of trying each new feature as one of the first people out there... The result: I finally embrace #Vernissage and focus more on pics and stability instead of more and more unstable features.

@matthias@social.klein.ruhr I gave up on Pixelfed to rather pursue Vernissage here. It simply concentrates on the photos instead of announcing many features that don't work anyways. Went with Pixelfed via Docker by jippi (https://github.com/jippi/docker-pixelfed) in the end (started years ago with the standard approach but then turned to Docker) and I am doing the same with Vernissage here, too. Let me know if you need some information on this one!

Pixelfed has become WordPress in a way, especially regarding it's leadership or the lack of it.
Being an early adopter on every new feature isn't always the best idea to simplify life.

@kranzkrone@quasselkopf.de I always try to believe that early adopting leads to success but I'm somehow sad as Pixelfed has potential - but having a single developer not just focusing on this but on numerous other projects is difficult. And - features should be announced when they're almost done and not cloaked work-in-progress over many months. Thus spoken, I still hope for the best but at the moment, Pixelfed wasted a lot of it potential despite basic things working.

@oliver
Pixelfed had a lot of potential but it's main developer wasted almost all of it in favor of ongoing announcing new features every couple of month, without finishing existing features to a stable point.
And then there are the many other side projects, mostly unfinished and with potential but that's it.
Pixelfed is done for me, won't give it a second chance.
@oliver After I deleted my instance I also think about restarting with pixelfed.
Which approach did you used? I donât get the original working?
