This image features the Ross Fountain, an elaborately decorated 19th-century cast iron fountain located in West Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, Scotland. The fountain is painted in vibrant turquoise and displays a variety of sculptures, including cherubs and mythical creatures. The fountain is set against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle which sits majestically on a hill above the gardens. The surrounding area is lush with greenery and blooming purple lavender, adding a colorful contrast to the scene. This picturesque setting is popular among both locals and tourists.

On the west side of the Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh is the Ross Fountain. Sculpted in the neoclassical style by Jean-Baptise Jules Klagmann and originally cast at the foundry of Antoine Durene in Sommevoire near Paris.

This remarkable sculpture has at its base, mermaids, cherubs, walrus and lion heads while at the top there are four female figures which represent science, arts, poetry and industry - a nice shot here with Edinburgh Castle in the background!
